This increase of assets was chiefly caused by the effect of application for the first time of deferred taxation on the shareholders\u2019 equity of Brisa, consolidated in the Jos\u00e9 de Mello, SGPS, SA, accounts using the equity method.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Consolidated turnover was also about 5% higher than in 2001, at \u20ac748 million.
